Tacky's rebel-lion which took place in the year 1760, was well planned by Tacky who was an Africa chief in Mama Africa, before he was kidnapped and taken to slavery plantations of the western world. It was so well planned that it covered many Parishes in the Island of Jamaica including St Mary, St. John, St.Dorothy, Westmoreland, Clarendon, Kingston and many more. It started in St. Mary, and the Maroons were called out to resist Tacky and his people, The Maroons of Scotts Hall under Captain Davy were the first to arrive on the scene, but before they took any action, they were complaining about some back money which were owed to them, for heads which they had taken back to the slave masters and for which they had not been paid. So, the slave masters quickly put up the money among themselves and paid the Scotts Hall Maroons, and as soon as they were paid, they marched against the revolters and engaged them killing some of them in the Parish of St. Mary.
The Accompong and the Trelawny Town Maroons Led by Captain Cudjoe were also engaged in the resistance of this uprising and they were able to crush the uprising in about six months. In the end Cudjoe and his followers were paid 450 Pounds in payment for their arrears, and the Scotts Hall, Moore Town and Charle Town, Maroons, were paid 228 Pounds,4 Shillings and five Pence to encourage them in service in the future. Let's face the truth, the so called Maroons were great Warriors, but they were also great betrayers of their own people, and what is wrong with them rejecting the dis-honorable name Maroon, and take on their original African names which they had, before they were shackled, kidnapped and whipped across the Middle Passage to the slave plantations of the western Hemisphere. So, again we say Maroons No No No.
Coromantees, Ashanti and Akan Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Take the best care of yourself and your people.
Again I send many oceans of blessings and self determination to African people everywhere.
ONE BLACK HEART ONE BLACK LOVE.
