Rastafari Speaks

Re: Life Has Its Entrance And Its Exits

Baba,

As I said I am deeply touched by your post so I went into your Homepage and read through your interview with Ras Tye again. Your video was no longer available. Anyway, even after these too few times we have communicated on this forum it is easy to see that we do have a certain likemindedness. Communing with nature and being aware of the Creation/Creator as you do is just as important to me. What a wonderful thing that is.
I went into the garden to water at the end of the day and went into the strawberry patch, "Stealing" the warm strawberries as I did when I was a child at my auntie's patch, lying flat on the ground not to be discovered but getting caught anyway and being yelled at by all the women. Strawberries still taste best when eaten straight away warm and juicy.
My thoughts were that if Rastas are cultivators as you say and there has not been enough planting for the present nor the future perhaps a garden memorial may work. If there is land available somewhere, for each one that has passed a planting of what they loved the best in the garden or nature.
I look around here and some of the non indigenous plants/trees are over 100 years old and have somehow survived whilst and despite the fact they are cutting down the old growth native trees/plants around them.
There is definitely irony here but in this case a tree is a tree and the way they are destroying the world's forests I won't discriminate.
They are majestic and truly awesome just grown from one little seed. There are some which only grow a foot a year or another, a native which only grows one inch.
A garden makes people slow down, look and smell, touch and breathe deeply....aahh mmm smell that. It brings peace and understanding as you know in the busy busy world and stimulates correct responses to life.
Wonderful for the children to teach them how things grow.
Just a belated thought.

Judah
