Title: Rise Up
Post by: NuseVoice on January 13, 2007, 07:27:14 PM
RISE UP

Give thanks and praise to the most high
Repent for your lies before you die
God bless yute, he sure did try
Too late now a fire bun inna de sky

Finding new heroes in zeros
More ignorance, there’s her smile
He already knows as he walks the green mile
Resistance is futile and freedom he can’t buy

Rise up; there are other ways
They’ve been here for all these days
Rise up; oh I sure will miss your face,
The beauty’ n’ warmth of your rays

The floor of our lives now falling through
The earth run hot, winters’ gone askew
Got material possession, nobody cares
All just warnings went on deaf ears

All that we know is gone,
Deformed perceptions of the truth,
Now our youth starts to shine through
But reflected by total destruction.

Rise up from insane beliefs of politicians
Overstand your mission, know your position
Rise up Jah is not just a character!
And television is not the ringmaster!

Its war dem a fight, what a controversy
Say dem spreading democracy and world policy
Now we all know this is a fallacy
With streets at home still full of poverty

Money running dry from this situation
So they take money from health and education
Now the fire’s a blazing, Babylon crying
As nations prepare comfort for the dying

Rise up as I drop these words of change
And deliver these ideals with endless rage.
Rise up as I pass these tears of pain,
Oh, Rise up cause fear is not to reign

Listen to your insight and regain morality
That sharp stimulation of reality
The skin is broken and now there’s bleeding,
Can you bring the earth back some feeling?

Know where you come from
And respect the ways of old
Then the future can manifest
Without the loss of your soul

Rise up now that you have grown
Rise up, strong and solid as a stone
Rise up and restore the faith
Rise up, it a reality inna ya face.

Rise up so your story can be told, ‘cause Jah know in these days reality itself was neglected…
