Title: Chess & its origin Post by: out_of_Zion on April 15, 2004, 12:53:25 PM I've never been able to find a definitive answer, but I read in one's speculation that chess was invented in Afrika, stolen by Europe, and then they changed the pieces into middle age magestic (for lack of a better term) pieces, i.e., king, queen, bishop, knight, etc.
Does anyone know what tribe invented chess? Has anyone heard about this? I'd told a kid I played before who I no longer associate with (he's a rotten apple!) about this and he thought I was crazy. I'd like to find some concrete research. Title: Re: Chess & its origin Post by: out_of_Zion on April 15, 2004, 12:55:38 PM Google never fails to amaze me...
