Title: Historical thinking: causation
Post by: Ayinde on December 21, 2003, 07:53:09 AM
Historians are concerned with the problem of causation, that is, why a particular event or series of events happened. In order to explain the past, the historian attempts to make the past ordered and logical. S/he may try to establish some hierarchy of causes; perhaps to decide which cause or category of causes should be regarded as the "cause of all causes".
