Title: Habakkuk's prophecy of Imperialism and the FALL
Post by: out_of_Zion on April 13, 2004, 03:05:48 PM
Greetings.

The prophet Habakkuk wrote of the Chaldeans and their "taking of residences not belonging to [them]" (Hab 1:6); but, as with most biblical prophecy, modern parallels can be drawn both due to the fact that history repeats itself and JAH has provided us with a book to be "a lamp to [our feet] and a light to [our roadway]" (Ps 119:105, adapted).

The lines that Habakkuk pens were in reference to the Chaldeans, but are specific denunciations of the acts themselves.

"Woe to the one that is building a city by bloodshed, and that has solidly established a town by unrighteousness!"
-Habakkuk 2:12

Brothers, does this not speak volumes of the "city" that has been breached in the wake of slavery & oppression in the west?  Surely it was built on bloodshed and unrighteousness and we know that JAH denounces this.

What shall these men receive?
"You will certainly be satiated with dishonor instead of glory.  Drink also, you yourself, and be considered uncircumcised.  The cup of the right hand of Jehovah will come around to you and there will be disgrace upon your glory." -2:16

So we see this glory of Babylon is not to last.  Reference this putrid city with Revelation 17:6 and Revelation 18:6-10 and you see she Babylon fall.  These scriptures speak volumes of the attitude manifested by the white supremacists in control of the US, Britain, and the UN, too.

What I find to be an eerie coincidence is the method Habakkuk spoke of when it came to the forcing of Xtianity onto tribes and peoples by force,

"Of what benefit has a carved image been, when the former of it has carved it, a molten statue, and an instructor in falsehood when the former of its former has trusted in it, to the extent of making valueless gods that are speechless?" -2:18

Does not the "carved image" ring of the cross that Cortés forced upon the Aztec villages?  Does not the "instructor in falsehood" ring of these colonial conquistadores instructing a people on how to be spiritual Christians, meaning Christ-like, when their actions were anything but Christian?  Thus has been this world empire of false religion that shall fall and give way to JAH Kingdom.  Se'lah.
