Title: "if they had only known they were slaves"
Post by: Tyehimba on August 27, 2003, 03:16:20 PM
I freed hundreds of slaves in my life time. I could have freed hundreds more if
they had only known they were slaves."
- Harriet Tubman

I feel this quote remains true even in todays day and age.  Slavery does not only intale the rapture and confinement of a person physically, but one can be capture/tortured within the bounderies of their mind.  Slavery can often relate to a mindset, a way of belief and thinking, or in actuality, a lack of fruitful thinking.  Malcolm X said "There are slaves living around even today."

Yes...

Accepting less than what is natually granted.

The acceptance of the position in ones life even if unhappiness cohabits.

Buying into a forced reality even though it feels just that...forced.

Give thanks Ras_tyehimba for this quote.

Feeling blessed to be here,
