Gaddafi reportedly accepts peace plan in Libya, South Africa says
 
Gaddafi's delegation had accepted the African Union's proposals, which would be set out in a statement later, Zuma added.

The terms of the African Union's road map were unclear - such as whether it would require Gadhafi to pull his troops out of cities as rebels have demanded.

"We have completed our mission with the brother leader, and the brother leader's delegation has accepted the road map as presented by us," Zuma said.

"We will be proceeding tomorrow to meet the other party to talk to everybody and present a political solution," Zuma said. He called on NATO to end airstrikes to "give the cease-fire a chance."

Gaddafi "accepts peace roadmap": South Africa's Zuma

TRIPOLI (Reuters) – Muammar Gaddafi has accepted a roadmap for ending the civil war in Libya, South African President Jacob Zuma said after leading a delegation of African leaders at talks in Tripoli.

Zuma, who with four other African heads of state met Gaddafi for several hours at the Libyan leader's Bab al-Aziziyah compound, also called on NATO to stop air strikes on Libyan government targets to "give ceasefire a chance."

A delegation of African leaders have arrived in Tripoli in an attempt to negotiate between Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and Benghazi-basd opposition forces. The AU opposed the no-fly zone and resisted calls for Gaddafi's ousting. Al Jazeera's Anita McNaught, reporting from Tripoli, tells us more.
