Title: In My Sleep
Post by: Zaynab on May 21, 2012, 09:31:55 PM
In my sleep
I will not understand your words
I Will not know real salvation
In my sleep you are damnation
In my sleep, love is physical union
Marriage is between a woman and a man
In my sleep, I am not my history but my present
In my sleep I am a slave
I am no mother
In my sleep, heaven is in The Bible,The Quran,The Gita

In my sleep,
I think of you as a phantom
I think of my black skin as a curse
In my sleep, my locks are too curly
My lips are too thick, my nose too pudgy
In my sleep, I am ashamed of my large hips
In my sleep I hate my blackness, I hate you, I hate me
In my sleep I am worthless and useless
In my sleep, I have become what you want me to be
In my sleep I am an extention of you, just a shadow of me
In my sleep, this is who I am

I dare not close my eyes again.
