TEMPIE KING TO SIGN AT DAVIS-KIDD

MEMPHIS, TN – Davis-Kidd Booksellers welcomes local author Tempie King, who will sign copies of her book Feelings (PublishAmerica, 2006, $19.95) on Saturday, August 5th at 1:00 p.m.
Feelings is a coming of age piece about a group of friends with Southern roots struggling through the pressures of pleasing parents and friends to find their true callings in life. Manerva Jones, a third year medical student, has no way of knowing that working one fateful summer night in the emergency room will change her life forever, but when a patient close to her in age dies due to the neglectful care of a racist doctor, Jones turns away from the injustice of her beloved South and heads for an office in Chicago. Her journey away from all that is familiar leaves her torn between living life to please her family and following her heart to happiness.
Tempie King was born in Memphis and recently returned to her hometown after living in Louisville and Chicago for the past twenty years. She holds a B.S. in Pre-Med and has attended the Writer’s Digest School of Novel Writing. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Management.
