Blackheart Man

« on: September 08, 2006, 02:04:51 PM »

i sit, and i assess
my responsibilities seem endless
the breath of LIFE brings me obligation
my duty is optimum manifestation
to those before i am in debt
life's road paved by blood & sweat
sidewalks made of pain and tears
city blueprints of enslaved years
as i yadd this journey to the east
life's reflections before me
i stare ahead, yet into my past
my tomorrows bring me memories
reminiscence of a people so bold
kings and queens, abunas of old
it was written, monologues and prophecies
life's unknowns revealed...
lamumba, nkrumah
khufu, khafre
marcus garvey, my thinking still
up, up, black man, accopmplish what u will

History has shown that it is the inaction of those who could’ve acted; the indifference of those who should’ve known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most that has made it possible for evil to triumph. - EMPEROR HAILE SELASSIE I
