Brother Resistance is the founder of the rapso movement. Performing with his band, the Network Riddum Band, Brother Resistance has carried the rapso message all over the world. The movement was born almost 30 years ago, when the late Lancelot Layne challenged the musical and literary status quo of the Caribbean. Drawing on the folk tradition of the Carnival characters of TRINIDAD & TOBAGO, Lance recreated  "Chantuelle", "Pierrot" and "Midnite Robber" in the spirit of what is now known as rapso. The music of this new art form came directly out of the sleel-band yards, drum yards and calypso arena, and the vibes and the flavour originated in a social movement dedicated to true Liberation and self-determination.

You should listen to Brother Resistance. His music is all about Soul and Revolution!

We should first show solidarity with each other. We are Africans. We are black. Our first priority is ourselves.
