Greets,
I dont that is going to happen. What I do hope though, is that Mumia gets a new trial. I think Ed Rendel is the Governor of PA, and was the prosecuting atty at the Mumia trial. I've been keeping up with this case for years, and thus far I've concluded that there is room for 'reasonable doubt' that Mumia killed Office Faulkner.
I'm a Mumia supporter, but I wasn't absolutely convinced by the confession of Arnold Beverly, the guy who claimed to have killed Faulkner. Mumia has done 25+ years - and even "if" he did do it, I think that there are enough mitigating factors to support releasing him.
Its also interesting to note that there have been very few black lawyers, who have taken up the case of Mumia - and the NAACP is one of the few national Black organizations that have 'legally' championed Mumia'a case for a new trial (NAACP is often called irrelevant bourgeous, etc).
I think what the Mumia case exposes is the problem with sentencing laws, and ideas related to can someone be 'rehabilitated' and if they are rehabilitated, should they be allowed the opportunity to re-enter into society.
