Is this just rhetoric? It seems for every thing that Obama does that might be viewed as progressive he does something that isn't. Is this the new way Empire works? First in was the CIA not being prosecuted for Bush era crimes of torture. Then it was conciliatory Cuba. Now it is Obama using his race as a hall pass to say he is down with Latin America while at the same time boycotting the UN conference on racism.
What are your thoughts? I'm sure much remains to be seen and maybe I'm being too cynical.
