Re: Sooner than Later
In Response To: Re: Sooner than Later ()

"Today, the global warming (as presented) is a scare-tactic to cause us to "change" from one form of white supremacy oppression to another...one with a smile...from whiteness to greeness...with "our children's future at stake" of course."

* That is of course IF the powers that be can co-opt it. The interesting thing though is that some people involved in the "green" movement are coming to realize that the methods that have given us empire run directly contrary to nature and thus there is a growing grass roots movement based upon localization, permaculture, respecting the ecological genius that has taken eons to develop to teach us how to properly work within the cycles and nature to produce what we need. This leads to valuing your locality and delving into the richness of that heritage - where the flora, plants, animals and what naturally abounds in a specific region are held as teachers as to how to properly implement human systems. As people come to value what is around them, they may become more interested in investing their time and money/wealth in what surrounds them, their community and in the process dis-investing from the empire model. This COULD lead to strong self-determined communities.

There ALSO is the realization that systems of exploitation depend very much on creating pockets of an underclass to fulfill the labor/resources for many of the things that you and I use everyday. Much of this is based on a supply chain that depends on many of the inputs that have been found to be responsible for things such as "global warming." Cheap oil has made empire infinitely more efficient and exponentially more all encompassing - this is the crux of what keeps the international trade system going, one that can be dominated if you have all the right players bought off and comfortable in their supporting roles.

Like any movement, the "green" movement is always in danger of being co-opted by the powers that be and morphed to fit their agenda - and with the current empire mindset, system of control - there is danger that we will be scared into accepting more b.s. However - when one delves into the nitty gritty of nature and what SHE teaches, it becomes obvious that these systems of control based on patriarchy, baal, lording over the land, control, domination, empire, etc. are not what is found. What is found is that our communities and the local eco-system that they are tied to are inextricably intertwined and that if we are going to create stable, secure, lasting communities we HAVE to work within the boundaries that we have thought to ignore through our arrogance.
