That's what Correspondent Lesley Stahl experiences when she takes just a few bites of the hoodia plant in the Kalahari Desert, for a report to be broadcast on 60 Minutes, Sunday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. ET/PT. Hoodia, a plant that tricks the brain by making the stomach feel full, has been in the diet of South Africa's Bushmen for thousands of years. Now, it could become the newest weapon in the war against obesity if an English drug company has its way. What's more, the Bushmen, also called the San, a disadvantaged minority, also stand to benefit from the sale of hoodia products.
