I read his Critical Issues in Educating African American Youth (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0913543144/theorderofthesel) and it helped me to look with new eyes at what I saw in school every day, most of all white middle-class assumptions about how black children are supposed to be.
