Title: ode to a queen
Post by: afrikanrebel06 on April 28, 2006, 03:29:57 PM
separated bya body of water
and land mass,
i know we are so far away,
but closer in spirit
ode to a queen,
because she was born where
great empires were built,
africa,the motherland,

and eventhough,
i aint got no locs,
and i dont speak jah rastari,
i come froma place,
with the largest afrikan slaves
in the planet,
my land has a spritual connection
with afrika and the universe
from yorubas across the waters,
yorubas,bantus,haussas and fulanis,
and brazil isa piece of afrika,
ode to a queen,
who just like me,
among the ruins of poverty,
has felt the shackles of imperialism,
colonial puppets working for the neo fascism

ode toa queen,
who comes from a line of many queens,
and is queen herself in her own unique way,
i know,i am poor, iam broke as broke can be,
i know i will be spiritually rich,
when you are with me,
and i know,i will be spiritually rich,
when i die and across orum,
because my soul will be set free. [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Ode to a queen,
will she hear?
ode mon ami,
is it hard to bear?

let the wind ride its horses,
to the western shores,
and carry these lover's voices,
as the blue ocean roars.

they took away our lovers,
on to the west as slaves,
while we fought alongside brothers,
their wooden ships left,

now all i have from my arkhan queen,
is memories of laughter and beautiful dreams,
does she suffer the way i do,
deep in their gold mines as is my doom,

has she forgotten our youthful bliss,
or is she taken by the yankee's kiss?
does she remember the one left behind,
or is their no queen left to find,

ode to a queen,
on alien shores,
ode to a queen,
is this suitor's lore

ode to a queen
who i meet each day
as i wind my way
throught the workplace decay
and the urban scene

ode to a king
who walks by in the city
with a flash of the pretty
smile, making worthwhile the gritty
walk, by his two word talk
good morning
