Title: Fijian and East AFrican languages
Post by: nomo8 on June 22, 2008, 11:31:33 PM
There is some very interesting  similarities to Fijian and languages of East AFrica.  This possibility dovetails with a post I made about oceanic voyages of discovery, intentional and unintentional.  I know alot about maritime history and human civilization by not much about African languages, so some smart bird on this site might investigate it a bit and see the similarities, especially in place names and family names.   Some Fijians beleive they are descended from Khemites (they use "Egytpian").  Solomon Islands is also of interest .  Any llinguists out there?  You can internet search the newspapers in Fiji and get a feel for it.  Well signing out for a long time here and will not pester with my posts , appreciate the opportunity.....Good luck.
