To I personally, I don't feel the need to identify as an Israelite or what have you, "African" is good enough for I. Symbolically you could say IanI are "Israel" though in that IanI are trying to keep IanI culture whilst living under downpression in foreign lands like the Israelites in Babylon. But I just see it as strictly symbolic... not saying that the original "Israelites" might not have been Ithiopian as the presence of the Beta Israel might indicate, but I don't think all or most of IanI in the diaspora are descended from that particular group of Black people ("Israelites").
Hope I am making sense, I'm in a bit of a rush and trying to blurt out what I'm trying to say quickly.
