During the period when Steve Biko was active teaching his people in Azania, the school children were some of his main students, because most of their fathers and adult brothers were either killed by the slave masters, are were placed in prison for long term prison sentences.
Therefore it was mostly mothers and babies and small children at home. The bigger children who went to schools, were intelligent enough, to know that their people were being mistreated, with their fathers and some of their mothers, sisters and brother, either killed are imprisoned.
So what Steve Biko was teaching against the system of Aparthied was very clear to them and so, they supported him with their whole heart, and attended his meetings when they could. They protested the evils of Aparthied, by running slowly in the streets and singing their own liberation songs, with their sweet melodius voices and deep convictions for Africans liberation. They would sing lyrics like: The old men are killed and imprisoned, The Women are left alone in the Villages with the Babies, the Black Nation is dieing out, Africans are Weeeping, the Cattles are gone way, and so many other strong lyrics and very strong and sweet spiritual singing and running by these gloriouis children of Africa.
The murderers generally set up aroad block for these children with their war tanks and various kinds of guns. They then tell the children on loud speakers, that they should disperse in three or five minutes, but the children are very high in
the spirit of singing and dancing generally ignored them, then they would fire some tear gas in the air, and when the frieghtened children started to scatter, then they chase them and shoot them in the back. We are really talking about 1976, but it is an historic evil which was practiced against African children and people in general, and it is a very grievious memory which we should not forget..
Take the best care of yourself and your people.
Again I send many oceans of blessings and self determination to African people everywhere.
ONE BLACK HEART ONE BLACK LOVE.
