Greetings Idren
There are Rastafari people who attend the EOC, who align them self with Christ Consciousness philosphies. Similarly there are Rastafarians that hold an affinity to indegenous African faiths. I have also met some Somali's and West African Muslims who would also describe themselves as Rastafarians - what all these folks have in common is the manner in which they sight His Majesty as an embodiment of Jah on Earth.
Most Rases I know from the States or JA are vegetarian or vegan - yet most of the Rases Ive met from Africa eat almost all meat except for pork. Does what they eat make them any less of a Rastafarian? My 4 yr old son loves the 'celebration' of Christmas and Easter - my empress from Africa spiritually identifies herself as a Christian, moreso than a Rastafarian - whereas, my livity is that of a Rastafarian who raspects the spiritual beliefs of all. My wife reads the Bible to my son - whereas I am most comfortable sharing with him my ideas on African spirituality and consciousness. As long as there is a balance - as I stated previously, folks can do as they please. Faith is ultimately personal.
The first step to breaking a yoke entails defining what the yoke is - I am not in agreement that a system of faith ie Christianity is a yoke. The man made institutions of Christianity may be accurately describes as such - but I am hesitant to pass judgement on an entire belief system. My moms, brother, extended family are all "Christians" and I happen to think that they are pretty decent people -
