Well I love these stone tools very much as they are very beautiful pieces of work and highly skilled.
The one on the left in the foto really makes me think of the further developed skill of sculpture. As you look at the piece in the negative space, the shadows, a face is almost there. It is easy to imagine the maker of this tool saw the face too in the shadows of the firelight.
A light must have gone off in someone's brain in time - ah hah - a "eureka" moment and a tool became an art-piece. Fascinating
