A vengeful reaction would have involved the murderer's progeny, parents, siblings etc.etc.etc.
A life for a life = Justice
If you should have a problem with the term "murderer", I offer this; maneuvering a deadly weapon at an uncontrollable speed through a pedestrian village, thereby intentionally causing the death of one human and putting any number of other human lives at risk, fits the definition of murder by any standard.
