I wonder if they taught us any of this in school?  I have a bad memory, I think!

  The United States of America is geographically situated between Iraq and Iran ... Canada is a desert country, experiences no snow and it is run by a communist dictatorship. The Brits, as they are called, speak Spanish as a first language and Swahili as a second language. Brazil's official language is French. It snows all year long in Jamaica and The Sahara is a tropical rain forest.

What is the common factor in the statements above?

They are all lies.

Now, suppose all this was taught at school, what would our children learn?

Obviously, they would learn that all the above is true ... perhaps with a few exceptions ... and these exceptions would be children who are probably smarter, more curious and more weary of what is being taught to them.  They would essentially be rebels and they would be scoffed at, ridiculed and harassed, even by the teachers.  They would be disciplined and perhaps even expelled from school.  They would fail every exam because their answers would not correspond to what they had been taught.  They would get a big zero in every test ... they would become failures and would never reach, or even aspire to reach university.  They would become marginalized by the system, excluded ... and they would probably eventually commit suicide or perhaps become drug addicts and jailbirds.  Certainly, most of these brilliant and inquisitive people would live negligible and hidden existences.  Perhaps they would be street people, looked down upon by the "normal" people as dirty local nuisances.

But hey, luckily that hasn't happened.  This scenario is highly unrealistic ... or is it?

I am sure that most of the so-called western world has been taught that Christopher Columbus was a hero, and explorer, a discoverer ... a great guy who, along with others, created the foundation for our great and wonderful societies.

Well, we were conned ... in school.

We have also evolved to believe that colonialism was a natural act, as natural as walking to the corner store, no harm done. Another lie.  We have grown up to blindly and unquestionably accept that capitalism is okay, that it is a non-intrusive, safe, ethical and legal instrument ... even if capitalism has led to the general degradation and/or collapse of  Human Values, the Family and Society as a whole. Because of capitalism, we send our elderly, like injured and sick cattle to old-age homes awaiting the inevitable.  We send our precious and delicate children to day-care centers, like hoards of animals, to be raised like livestock by strangers whose values are almost entirely based on capitalism, their weekly salaries and benefits. Generation after generation, we have been brainwashed.

Capitalism would not be a bad idea if it somehow preserved Human Dignity and Human values ... but unfortunately, this is not the case since capitalism is all about profit, only about profit ... and only the most ruthless and heartless can make the most profit.  Humanity, people, family are not important in capitalism, they are only incidental factors in a grand equation.

Until when are we going to continue teaching our children lies?

In Canada, for example, Residential Schools were established throughout Canada in the 1900s ... where innocent Indian Children were cattled-off to far-away places to be indoctrinated, washed with wire brushes, beaten and raped. These "schools" were run by the government and often operated by the Christian church. The last Residential School in Canada was finally shut down in 1996, only about 10 years ago. Why were we not taught this in school?  On the contrary, we were taught that Indians were savages.  Imagine ... who were the savages, the innocent, docile and peaceful Indians living quietly in their teepees ... or the white people who kidnapped the children away from their loving families to be sacrificed to the "greater" god of capitalism, colonialism and the whiteman's ruthlessness and superiority complex?

Finally however, someone, somewhere is doing something to begin rectifying the situation, correcting the facts.  This someone is Chavez.

VHeadline.com recently published an article entitled "Venezuelan children to be taught that Christopher Columbus was not a hero," and it reads, in part, as such:

"The Daily Telegraph (Jeremy McDermott): Children in Venezuela are to be taught that Christopher Columbus was not a hero but the importer of colonialism and disease, as part of radical education reforms proposed by the government of Hugo Chavez. Under the proposals students will start learning Marxist ideology at 11 years of age, plus history showing the evils of colonialism and capitalism. The aim of the Bolivarian Educative System will be 'the construction of a new socialist Venezuelan conscience and the formation of new generations as standard bearers for it,' said President Chavez. He said it must "transform capitalist values into human ones and transcend Euro-centric colonialism. Outlines of the new curriculum, due to come into force in 2010, show that as well as the unflattering depiction of Columbus, emphasis will be placed on teaching indigenous Indian history and culture, as well as that of the African slaves whose descendants now make up a significant percentage of the population."

Thank the heavens that Chavez is doing this.

It is surprising to me how many people do not know that Columbus and almost the entire lot of them, including priests and military men, intentionally distributed blankets infected with small pox as gifts to the innocent and unsuspecting Indians in order to reduce their numbers so that we whitepeople could eventually steal the lands and resources.  Well, I guess I shouldn't' be surprised ... our school system has been, and still is, only a ruse to make us believe in lies ... so that we may never become aware of the atrocities committed by our forerunners. (Yes, we are the offspring of mass murderers, thieves and rapists ... this is the truth.) Imagine if we knew the truth?  Maybe, just maybe, some of us whitepeople might feel a little bit guilty?

Nah, I doubt it, that was long ago and we weren't involved. Anyway, we are not going to liberate the land, no way!

When I was a child in school, in elementary and high school, I was inquisitive. Teachers and principals didn't like that, they didn't like me.
Well, that's it for now ... I'm looking out the window, here in Canada ... I am hungry and I feel like eating a hamburger ... I still have some commie food coupons left ... so I'm planning on taking my three-wheeled bicycle, drive through the scorching desert dunes and park it in front of the McDonald's a few kilometers away to enjoy a Big Mac made of my favorite combination of meats; scorpions, spiders and cockroaches.

I wonder how many of these mammals they have to mass-production-butcher to make one delicious hamburger.

I wonder if they taught us any of this in school?  I have a bad memory, I think.

DNA PIONEER SAYS BLACKS ARE GENETICALLY LESS SMART: Watson of Watson & Crick tells UK newspaper whites are more intelligent.

      *James Watson, the man who along with Francis Crick won the Nobel Prize for discovering the double-helix structure of DNA, is facing backlash in Britain after claiming that black people are genetically less intelligent than whites.

       In an interview with The Sunday Times to promote his new book "Avoid Boring People: Lessons from a Life in Science," the 79-year-old geneticist said he was pessimistic about efforts to raise the standard of living in Africa.       

        “All our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours - whereas all the testing says not really,” Watson told the newspaper. He recognized that the prevailing belief was that all human groups are equal, but that "people who have to deal with black employees find this not true."

       He told the interviewer, a former student of his, that he had recently inaugurated a DNA learning center near Harlem and would like to have more minority researchers at his lab - and "just accepted a black girl" – but “there’s no one to recruit.”       

        As a result of his comments, the British Science Museum has cancelled the geneticist's scheduled speech.       

       "We know that eminent scientists can sometimes say things that cause controversy and the Science Museum does not shy away from debating controversial topics,” the spokesman told the BBC. “However, we feel Dr. Watson has gone beyond the point of acceptable debate and we are as a result cancelling his talk.”
