Understanding The Black Man
What Black Women Need To Know.

In understanding the Black man one must first find out his origin what molded him
His environment what shaped his thinking patterns. His identity.

For the Black women who is interested in understanding the Black man we would
Like to recommend the following books:
#1. The Black Man’s Guide to Understanding the Blackwoman
       By Shahrazad Ali.
#2. The Blackwoman’s Guide to Understanding the Blackman
       By Shahrazad Ali.
In both books Shahrazad Ali outlines a program for unity between Black women
And Black men, based on our research of both books we come to the conclusion
That the information is vital to the minds of  black men and women in America.

We have conducted work shops and held private meetings in homes in our own town.
You may want to try this for yourself, Shahrazad Ali also have a video called the
Blackman’s guide on tour .

This is what we did, we invited at least 18 men over for their opinion on a very
Important matter at 8:00 pm EST, they were not told what the meeting was about
They were told not to bring anything, food and drinks were on the house.
15 men showed up.

They were told the meeting was to last for one hour, no one was to comment until
The video presentation was over.
It was the most interesting meeting in the history of Blackmen in American the fire
Works started each man claimed he was the man of the house the one who new better
Began to point out facts that did not support his claim.

The verbal battle lasted until 11:00pm at that time I called for intermission because
They had forgotten about the food their manhood was on the line.
By 2:00am the meeting was forced closed
But the battle lasted out the door down the steps in to the parking lot out the windows of cars and trucks but I'm not sure if anything happened at the red light.

Now the meeting we held with the Blackwomen went different they did not attack each
Other they were in agreement with each other but they did verbally attack us for
Bringing up what was never to be told. When the meeting was over I was no longer
Known as Father X.

My name had been changed to MUD one sister whose husband had left her for another woman,
Was asked the question what percentage of the break down in her relationship with her
Husband was she willing to except? she replied 15% and then she began to cry.
She was immediately consoled by the rest of the group.
I was verbally reprimanded for even asking the question by the time the meeting was
Half way over I was looking for the first hole I could find to make my escape.

In her book the Blackwoman’s  Guide to Understanding the Blackman she starts in chapter 2 with the title – Identity - she states the following:
Trying to identify the Blackman or to get them to uniformly identify themselves is quite
Complicated .The cause of this complication is his overall unfamiliarity with his exact
Origin,
Aims and purpose. Some of them spew various definitions and views about who they
are. Over the past 50 years or so they have changed their titles, so many times, so it is
obvious that they are periodically undecided about who they are, and unable to settle
on a word that aptly portrays who they wish to be.

They have been called niggers, nigras, or nigrahs and claim that they do not like this
Label. They still tend to use this term with each other vacillating between using it to
Express fondness or as an insult.

Shahrazad Ali go’s on to state
Later they referred to themselves as colored. By order of the more educated among them they settled for Negro for a short time. As years passed they outlined another reference-
Contrary to their previous position of claiming they hated the term- they, after much
Prompting, preferred to be recognized as “Black”. As the years progressed and they became more politically astute they selected the modern term of Afro-American…….

In my opinion he has not got it right just yet it will take research into our- story and
Culture he must invest in this kind of knowledge himself for it cannot be found in the
Schools of America…..
