I am nothing with out my soul

« on: December 15, 2004, 11:12:16 AM »

Tenayistilign,Greetings and much Blessings to one and all.

Firstly im not sure if this is the place to put this question but i will and if it isn't then I will move it.

My question is can anyone tell me the correct meaning and reason for the placing of hands like this especial after gatherings or even during gatherings i see many elders sit with they hands like that.I have heard it represents the star of david, but my source never gave me the full story so can anyone out there help on this.

To me the fingers placed together are in the shape of africa and the koptic cross. They represent unity.

that SYMBOL represents the TRIANGLE-Mother+Father=Son and Daughter, this is the TRUE MEANING eventho their might be many different ways to sight it.the star of David represents the Mother and Father=Material world and Spiritual.its surprising to me that some Rasta dont know that SYMBOL that we do with our hands, ITS NOT NEW, its just that most drew it drawed it and not with hands.the TRIANGLE is BALANCED ALL BY ITSELF and is LIFE and it is how the Mother and Father CREATED us and the cosmos, i can go on and on, but u should STILL find out more for ur-self.

Much Blessings too you both and I dont mind if you go on and on House_of_Rasta more food for thought but as you also said I did find out for my self about when i approached an elder in my community 2days ago about it He too told me that it represented the triangle of life and as you mention mother father son and dawta and it represented the balance of each one being intwine with each other creating spiritual fulfillment,

Thanks to you both and Hotep

Definately a triangle, 3 points, representing the power of the Trinity.  An emulation of SelassieI as he was seen over and over carrying H.I.M.'s hands in this posture. Selam
