Ayanna's Roots

WWW
« on: January 03, 2005, 01:27:38 PM »

The British Council recently ran a survey of all the people who were learning English with their site to find out what English words they found the most beautiful. A list was complied of the 70 most beautiful words in English.  It made me wonder what English words those who post on this board found to be beautiful, as we all know that what people find beautiful is often culturally determined. Check the link below for the British Council's list and reply to this post giving your own words.

Greetings in the name of the Most High,

"I" is my favorite

Also Rastafari, even though its not english!

On a lighter note, I read about a study that was done in Japan about the most beautiful english word and it turned out to be "diarrhea". Obviously the people didn't know what the word meant. Smiley
