that they are ostensibly more prosperous, there is a tendency to
wonder whether there is virtue in selfless objectivity. Orunmila tells

this I can personally attest to) The cheat may seem to prosper oste-
nsibly but if one might discover that his material contentment was
hollow and that he was not what he seemed to be. And if he gets away
(ifayomi note seemingly) with his greediness, the punishment will be handed
to his children and grandchildren until he atones in full for what he has
undeservedly extracted from society"
