Happiness is knowing to stop searching for it.

« on: March 14, 2007, 09:52:47 AM »

Greetings and More Love To All Yu Mi Idrens !

Most of us are engaged in a conscious search for happiness in our daily lives.  This maybe thru wealth acquisition, sport, music, our careers and so on.  But, many a time we end up in deep frustration and even much more demoralised than before.  However, one important thing that we must realise before we start searching for happiness is that, what we perceive as happiness is non-existant i.e it is nothing but an illusion.  It is simply a mental state that is impermanent and has no form just any other thoughts.

THE ONLY WAY TO HAPPINESS IS TO KNOW THAT IT DOESN'T EXIST

The first step in finding true happiness is by searching for freedom.  One is free if and only if the mind is free.  In order to free the mind one has to be in a state known as mindfulness.  This is awareness in whatever is taking place around you and preventing conflicting thoughts from taking refuge in your mind.  This is a kind of meditation and if practiced can actually free one from clinging to thoughts.
It makes one view the world with equanimity i.e. without likes or dislikes and actually prevents clinging to certains thoughts that keep us in bondage.
I have actually found this very helpful.  For further overstanding try to read an online book by Dr Thynn Thynn,Living meditation on www.buddhanet.net/drthynn/
She also touches briefly on the Bhuddist Noble 8 fold path which can change one's life if followed.  Memba Bhuddism is a way of life like Rastafari and trust mi if yu mix the two you will surely become a very conscious man or wombman.
Mo Love
