Marcus Garvey Trinidad and Tobago

The Marcus Garvey Institute of African Life Studies will be hosting its 2nd Annual Marcus Garvey Festival commencing on Thursday 17th August, 2006, and ending on Saturday 9th September, 2006.

This organization has been in existence for the past 35 years, and our principles seek to maintain the African tradition in all aspects possible, religious, cultural and educational.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FOR THE Marcus Garvey Institute of Afrikan Life Studies 2nd Annual Garvey Festival
  • Ancestral Invocational Ceremony at the Garvey Statue, Harris Promenade, San Fernando, Thursday 17th August, 2006 - 3pm to 6pm.

  • 2nd Annual Marcus Garvey Convention at the Creative Arts Center, UWI, St. Augustine, Sunday 20th August, 2006 - 9am to 5pm.

  • 2nd Annual Marcus Garvey Symposium at the Belmont Community Center, Saturday 26th August, 2006 — 10 am to 4pm.

  • 1st Annual Afrikan History Film Festival at Pleasantville Community Center, Sunday 27th August, 2006 — 1pm to 7 pm.

  • 2nd Annual Marcus Garvey Calypso & Rapso Fest at San Fernando City Hall Auditorium, Saturday 9th September, 2006 — 7pm to 2am.
