Africa the land of my birth
where my heart beat first
where I breathed my first breath,
words are inadequate to describe your beauty
but few of mankind believe in your deity,
my heart bleeds when I think of injustices past and present
the Diaspora of your children, their enslavement you couldn't prevent,
the racial relegation
the spiritual emasculation,
the methodical colonization
the never ending subjugation

When will the children of Africa arise?
when will they unite? when will they realize?
when will they cast away the feelings of inferiority?
when will they be rid of this cursed mentality?

Maybe in a decade's time
maybe in half a century,
maybe never in my lifetime
but surely, it must happen eventually,
the emancipation of Africa's children
is as sure as the rising and setting of the sun,
as sure as night and day
as sure as black and white is gray

The whole world should listen to these lines
because Africa's children will soon arise,
I say what I mean, I mean what I say
these are words I speak with pride every single day

I yearn earnestly for that glorious awakening
when conflict and strife become relics of a forgotten time
when a coup is nothing but a capital crime
successful or not, is punishable by a public killing,
when famine is just a word in the dictionary
when ethnic tolerance is not extra-ordinary,
when all whose origins are African
become united with their kith and kin,
when they see through western propaganda
and realize the true splendor of Africa
the beauty of their heritage
that has been maligned through the ages,
the time will come, believe me, I'm sure
I see it, clear as the visions that Ifa sees

One Black Love

Only when InI bestirs ourself can we advance spiritually.

The man who uses ready made opinions of others, only walks his path as if on crutches, while ignoring his own healthy limbs

We should first show solidarity with each other. We are Africans. We are black. Our first priority is ourselves.

Ras Benjamine, this poem is awesome.

If man substitute InI soul for the word Africa, this poem is right in tune with how this man feel.

Thanks for creating these words

Africa is the beginning of the human aspect of our genesis.
The root of the human aspect of the soul of ALL people is in ancient Africa.
It is from this source the essence of life flows to all of humanity.
It is from this ONE understanding truths CAN makes sense to all people.
Once the words and actions of people neglect the source of us then they no longer speak to all of us.

It is from this basic reasoning Africa Speaks to all people. Rasta (Wisdom) is not going to bend to suit people's ignorance; it is people who will have to see their alignment within our common gene pool to engage the essence. When people align themselves with "I" it is this truth they are also aligning with.

Yes I...as the scales fall from the eye...the Indomitable Spirit
of Africa will never be subdued nor vanquished..

She is unconquerable..and speaks mightily through her seed to us All...some of us are listening and paying great attention..

...there is an Ancient Song that calls to those w/ ears to hear and strikes the inner chords of remembrance..

The time has indeed come to act from the Source of the Soul from which All emanates... and see the fruits manifested in THIS lifetime... surely as the sun rises..surely as the sun sets.

let it be so..
