Finding myself

Last year in March I met a man who was very knowledgeable about Afrikan culture and I am starting to learn.  I didn't know about melanin and that Blacks are the first people on this plant.  My question is this:  Since I am learning more about myself and culture why is it a secret in American history books?  Is it only speculation that blacks are the first on the plant because of melanin?  Was it the monkey dna mixed with alien dna that make us and not God?  As you can tell I am at a very confusing spot right now bu, I am open to any information anyone can give, even books.

  Alaafia peace & blessings I am glad that you are finding out about yourself I believe it is true we were the first people created Another thing you might want to do is check out Ifa/Yoruba I could recommend a site But I believe the Anscestor will guide you you can do a search on Ifa or Yoruba and find a site that will help you a great deal I have been on this journey not to long myself but am learning much. once your eyes are open you can never close them again Odadu

It's good to see that another Black person has opned their eyes and soul to learn more of our culture and ancestors. The geneology behind the existence of the Afrikan race ranges from evolution to the belief that the Zulu came from Mars. It would have been easier if some of our ancient books and writings were still in existence and not destroyed by the oppressor. I'm only 15 and still on my journey to find out more of my ancestors. Some spirited individuals have been able to contact them..and some have to wait until their soul has travelled to the home of our ancestors by means of spiritual elevation. As i said..I am still learning and reading and getting more knowledge on my ancestors and my history and culture.
Sistren, continue reading and be open for positive criticism and corrections and advice from any elders you may encounter on this beautiful struggle of life..

Thank you all for your replies.  I have started to learn Ifa and about my ancestors.  I didn't really know that honoring my ancestors was a thing to do.  I was always told to praise God, Jesus, and the holy ghost and it never mention honoring the dead (basically).  I now know my ancestors are not dead their just in another place and they are always watching me.  I am trying to set up a shrine for them and I will pay homage to them.  Thanks again for your replies.

Its good see to the Nubian race evolving, how do I learn more about IFA/YORUBA and the ashanti. I would like to learn about the Bantu way of life from the different regions as we all have the same origin.
