My Name Is Ed. I知 a Racist
by Ed Kinane / March 9th, 2010

Alcoholics Anonymous knows that recovery requires acknowledging one痴 illness; denial cripples recovery. What follows isn稚 about drinking, but about a more cunning disease. Before I say more, I want to introduce myself: 溺y name is Ed. I知 a racist.

No, I知 not flaunting my bigotry, nor succumbing to guilt. I知 acknowledging that I致e been deeply conditioned by a society permeated with racism. For a white person raised in the U.S., racism recovery demands persistent mindfulness. It痴 the task of a lifetime.

by Ed Kinane / July 6th, 2010

溺y Name is Ed. I知 a Racist. That痴 the title of an article I recently wrote about living in a society where no one escapes racist conditioning. Now I want to continue those reflections.
