To Hear

We speak to each other
Neither listening nor hearing
The words and the understanding
That is implied

We are too busy
To busy constantly listening to ourselves
Saying nothing
Imparting nothing
Sharing nothing
Not educating or edifying

Yet still we pretend to converse
Wondering why there is no progress
No knowledge processed

We are too busy
To busy constantly listening to ourselves
Saying nothing
Imparting nothing
Sharing nothing
Not educating or edifying

Left are but the echoes
Of true thought, we have failed to grasp
While speaking to each other
Neither listening nor hearing
The words and the understanding
That is implied.
